Nationwide prohibitory order and curfew

A nationwide prohibitory order and curfew have been put in place in Nepal to maintain peace and security. The Nepali Army has expressed sadness over the loss of life and property during recent protests.

The prohibitory order is in effect until 5 PM on Bhadra 25, followed by a curfew until 6 AM the next day. The army says these measures are a response to individuals and groups infiltrating protests to cause vandalism, arson, looting, and violence. During this period, only essential vehicles are permitted. The army has warned that any destructive actions will be met with strict punishment and has urged the public to disregard rumors and rely on official information. They have also reaffirmed their commitment to national unity, social harmony, and security.
