Monsoon Fury and Landslides Block Major Highways, Isolating Kathmandu Valley

Continuous, heavy rainfall over the past few days has triggered multiple landslides and floods, severely impacting transportation across Nepal. Major highways, including key routes connecting the Kathmandu Valley to the rest of the country, such as the Araniko Highway and sections of the Hetauda–Kathmandu and Narayangadh-Muglin roads, have been blocked. Authorities have suspended long-haul vehicle operation in certain areas for safety, causing significant disruption to travel, especially during the festive season.
