Kathmandu is world’s best natural destination : Tripadvisor
The renowned travel platform ‘Tripadvisor’ has acclaimed Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, as the premier natural destination globally. This recognition was unveiled as part of ‘Tripadvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards-2024’, encompassing seven distinct categories, wherein Kathmandu clinched the top position for natural destinations in the year 2024.
Kathmandu secured the leading position among the top 10 natural destinations worldwide. Tripadvisor’s announcement spotlighted the crème de la crème destinations for 2024 across seven categories: best destinations, natural locales, trending spots, cultural hubs, culinary delights, honeymoon getaways, and sustainable destinations.
Additionally, Kathmandu claimed the 24th spot among the finest 25 destinations globally. Tripadvisor stands as the foremost travel advisory platform globally, assisting travelers with bookings, destination choices, and itinerary planning.
Mani Raj Lamichhane, the director of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), emphasized the substantial contribution this accolade will make to promoting Nepal’s tourism. Lamichhane remarked, “Trip Advisor annually categorizes destinations worldwide based on the reviews and feedback from millions of consumers. Kathmandu’s recognition as the premier destination across seven categories will undoubtedly bolster Nepal’s tourism, particularly as we recover from the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Lamichhane expressed confidence in Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s pledge to double the influx of foreign tourists visiting Nepal within the upcoming year, viewing it as a crucial component of the government’s one-year agenda.
According to NTB statistics, Nepal welcomed 1,014,882 foreign tourists in 2023.
