Israel extends same care & rights to Bipin Joshi’s family as its own citizens

Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the family of Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who was taken hostage and later confirmed dead during the Hamas attacks, will receive the same care and support as families of other missing citizens.

Bipin Joshi was abducted by Hamas from the Alumim kibbutz during the brutal attack on Israel on Oct 7, 2023.

His death was confirmed through forensic testing. The Israeli military verified that one of the four bodies handed over by Hamas on Monday night belonged to Bipin.

The Abu Kabir Forensic Institute in Tel Aviv conducted detailed investigations to identify all four bodies.

Bipin’s brother, Kishor Joshi, confirmed receiving the identification news and said that a date will be set to bring the body back to Nepal once necessary procedures are completed.

DNA testing at an Israeli military hospital indicated that Bipin had died at the end of 2023.

Bipin had traveled to Israel under the ‘Learn and Earn’ program for agricultural studies.

Ten Nepali students lost their lives during the same attack.

A widely circulated video showing Bipin being taken into a hospital with his head covered had sparked global concern about his condition, but no concrete information emerged for months, leaving his family in prolonged anguish.

Israel’s offer of special support and rights to Bipin’s family highlights the country’s humanitarian approach in the eyes of the international community.

The Israeli military has stated that it will release further details regarding the circumstances and cause of Bipin’s death once its investigation is complete.
