New York Times lists ‘Mustang’ in list of 37 tourist destinations to visit in 2024

The renowned American newspaper “The New York Times” has spotlighted Nepal’s Mustang as a must-visit destination for travelers in 2024. Featuring in its prestigious list of 52 places around the globe, The New York Times has underscored Mustang’s significance as a tourist gem nestled in Nepal’s Trans-Himalayan region.

Described as an ancient Himalayan kingdom steeped in tradition and rural charm, Mustang has steadfastly preserved its cultural heritage over centuries, as noted by The New York Times.

This recognition from The New York Times follows a similar acknowledgment from CNN last May, which also included Mustang in its list of 23 must-visit destinations worldwide. CNN highlighted Mustang’s renowned prehistoric trekking trails, further enhancing its allure to adventure enthusiasts.

Beyond its natural beauty and trekking trails, Mustang holds religious and archaeological significance, drawing visitors to revered sites like Muktinath, a religious pilgrimage destination, and the historic Lo Manthang, steeped in legend and history. These attractions contribute to Mustang’s status as a multifaceted destination appealing to a diverse range of travelers.
